Greece has recognized the need to enhance cybersecurity by designing targeted projects emphasizing the principle of "security by design and by default" and a holistic approach to the issue. For example, Law 4961/2022 was established for emerging technologies and the enhancement of digital governance. At the same time, it has been observed that increased reliance on digitization also increases the attack surface. In this context, a national strategy and a National Cybersecurity Operations Center were created. Technological priorities include IPv6 protocols, DNSSEC, HTTPS, and policies for safe browsing (such as HSTS, CSP, Referrer Policy, etc.). Additionally, the NIS2 Directive (Law 5160/2024) was successfully integrated, accompanied by additional measures to strengthen cybersecurity in the country.
