Greece actively participates in the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) initiative with two nodes (Athens & Thessaloniki), supporting the use of blockchain for public services. Based on Law 4961/2022, regulations for the use of technology in areas such as digital certificates, traceability, transparency in contracts and data protection are included. Emphasis is placed on strengthening cybersecurity, interoperability and promoting innovation in blockchain applications in both the public and private sectors.

The digitization of public contracts and storage of their fingerprints using blockchains

The integration of blockchain technologies in the publication of transactions in DIAVGEIA

Validation of digital documents and titles
Use of blockchain technologies for the validation of digital copies, certificates and degrees, in combination with developments in Europe

Traceability in the supply chain.
Traceability of food and raw materials, utilization in the control of origin certifications and more generally in the supply chain

Controlled exchange and access to medical data
The use of patient record data, with the possibility of controlled data exchange between health institutions and full traceability of data access by doctors and other health professionals
