In recent years, the digital strategy in the labour sector has focused on digitizing the physical archives and converting the insurance records of beneficiaries from the former Funds into electronic form within e EFKA, thereby expediting the processing of pension applications and enhancing interoperability with other information systems and registries of the public administration. At the same time, the expanded rollout of the digital work card (ERGANI II) across additional economic sectors reduces the administrative burden on businesses, strengthens employees’ labour rights, and curbs undeclared or under declared work. OPEKA is also proceeding with the unification and digitization of all its allowances and benefits, creating a single portal through which all social protection programs and related entitlements will be accessible, while modernizing its software services. Furthermore, the Integrated Information System for Occupational Health & Safety (HERIDANOS) will support the competent authorities in performing their duties and will facilitate occupational safety technicians and physicians both in their initial training and in their ongoing professional development and information updates, thereby continually improving worker protection and the competitiveness of the labour market.
