The digital transformation of health care in Greece is being promoted by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Digital Governance, with telemedicine for remote diagnostics as a key pillar, especially on the islands. An important development was the Electronic Health Record (EHR), which incorporated tele-consultation, accelerating digitisation during the COVID 19 pandemic. NDC(EKT)/EIT Health's SymbIASIS programme connects hospitals and start-ups, enabling pilot testing and validation of innovative solutions in the field. In addition, through gov.gr and the MyHealth application, citizens are provided with a digital record and history: hospitalisation certificates from 55 facilities and test results from 59 facilities across the country are now digitally issued. Digital documents carry all the information and have the same validity as paper documents, reducing paperwork, visits, and the volume of paper records.
